"BJ Martin's work involves general waste removal; cleaning up of bodily fluids; collection and disposal of sharps (typically, drug users' equipment) and fumigation of infested premises. Typically our clients are local councils and housing trusts. Blue Planet has helped us to develop a documented health and safety system with risk assessments and method statements, together with other documentation such as an equal opportunities policy, environmental policy and business continuity management strategy. Although we take the safety and well-being of our staff very seriously, finding the time to formalise procedures and documentation isn't always easy when you have to do the work and run the business at the same time, so it's really useful for to have someone to call on who can remove that burden. Without the appropriate documentation and systems in place, we would be unable to compete for new business for our key clients.
